GRAHAM & CELIA DUCK

Celia and Graham are professional networkers, who have been in the industry for over 20 years. They had previously been involved with Amway, the biggest Multi Level Marketing (MLM) company in Australia, which Celia joined in 1989, and had been very successful, reaching the Amway Diamond level in only four years. After several years, "I no longer felt a new person being introduced to Amway could become financially independent within a reasonable period of time". "The biggest and oldest company does not necessarily mean the best", says Celia. Celia and Graham parted with Amway and sought other MLM companies that offered what they were looking for, both for themselves and their team of Networkers, many of whom had become very close friends.

Celia and Graham joined another international MLM company that had good products, based on Australia's melaleuca oil, where they quickly advanced to the top of the company. However even though they had the biggest business in the company and were its highest income earner they could not take any extended time off or their maximum income plummeted to less than $1,000 per month irrespective of the volume of product that went through their business. This was because that company did not have a true residual passive income where a distributor could build their business up to a level and then take time off or semi-retire on the residual income from the business they had built. One of the attractions of building a MLM business is the ability to set up a passive residual income. Unfortunately the company did not have the passive residual income they were looking for, instead it had an active residual income that required them to effectively continue to actively work to the equivalent of enrolling 3 new people each month and purchase over $150 of products per month to obtain the full residual income their business produced. If they were not active to at least this level of continual work, they could not even earn $1,000 per month even though the company continued to derive its income and profits from the products purchased by the network of customers and businesses they had built. This was not disclosed to them when they sought out the business or when they became the MLM companies number one business and to their knowledge is still not disclosed in any of that companies literature. The maximum of less than $1,000 residual income only came to light, when another senior distributor in the company had their business valued as part of their divorce and property settlement. Also this MLM company claimed as their sole proprietary ownership any person Celia and Graham, their team or others introduced to the company. This meant that no one involved with the company could promote another income or business opportunity even if it was in something totally unrelated to that companies products.

Celia resigned from the company and sought opportunities elsewhere, while Graham continued with his Melaleuca business, that is, until that business was terminated for the purported activities of another and not for any activities of his own. There was no suggestion by the company that Graham had done anything wrong or that there had been any complaints made about him. In other words the company punished Graham by terminating his business for what someone else was supposed to have done, and offered him no proposal that could reasonably resolve the matter other than for him to move out from the matrimonial home. What right did this North American based multi-national MLM have, to even suggest that for Graham to keep the most successful Melaleuca of Australian and New Zealand business at that time, a business that he and Celia built together, that they, Celia and Graham, would need to live in separate households, now that Celia was no longer a part of their Melaleuca business and because Celia was looking for other business opportunities. What was even more galling was that at the time of the termination of Graham’s Melaleuca business, Celia was not a member, distributor, agent, dealer etc of any other MLM business. I know this sounds like an exaggeration, however Melaleuca of Australian and New Zealand’s enforced their Policy 13 and 19 and terminated Graham’s business. Policy 13 – “If any member of the Marketing Executive’s Immediate Household engages in any activity which, if performed by the Marketing Executive (Graham), would violate any Melaleuca Policy or any provision of the Independent Marketing Executive Agreement, such activity will be deemed a breach by the Marketing Executive”. By this draconian Policy, Melaleuca made Graham responsible for the actions of anybody and everybody in his household who does something Melaleuca does not like, even though Graham does not do the thing himself! And what did Melaleuca not like? Policy 19 “ ...(a) recruiting or Enrolling Melaleuca Customers or Marketing Executives for other business or income opportunities ...”  Note this does not say MLM business, it very specifically says “.. other business or income opportunities ...”. That meant that while Graham had a Melaleuca business, no-one in Graham’s household could ever, that's right, ever, approach any Melaleuca people about any other way you could make money or do business. There was never any suggestion by Melaleuca that Graham had personally done anything wrong, yet they terminated his business and never offered him a cent in compensation.

Celia and Graham continued to search for another business and had checked out over 40 companies and marketing plans, when they were approached about another company. Celia says she has finally found a company that did not have policies and procedures that wanted to control your organisation, database and people you introduced to the company.  A company with true passive residual income to be able to retire and plan on, with no hidden clauses requiring on-going activities to receive a residual income from your previous efforts. Most people give up the hunt before they finally find what they are looking for, and most people do not know what they are looking for anyway.  People usually become involved in a networking opportunity on an emotional basis with a family or friend member. Very few people are like us and look at it totally unemotionally as a business opportunity. Emotions and warm fuzzy’s can cloud your mind when it comes to the minefield of networks in the market place.  We had nearly got to the stage of starting our own MLM network company to give people what we believed would be the fairest compensation plan in the world, without the politics, and only a seasoned networker would know what we mean by fair, when we saw this compensation plan and company. Since leaving Amway, Celia and her husband Graham have built three very successful businesses, including Melaleuca of Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd to the Executive II level, where they had been recognized as having the fastest and largest growing Melaleuca business in Australia and New Zealand. They had joined the ranks of the International Executive Leadership Council in Melaleuca for having one of the top 10 businesses in the world. However, Graham and Celia recognized that money was not everything, and if you could never stop working if you wanted to continue to earn a sustainable income, and that you did not own your network, because of polices that could take it away from you at any time or stop your income at anytime, or if you were unable to work for any reason your income dropped to less than the poverty level in Australia.  It was back to the drawing board and the search was on for a truly ethical opportunity with a real passive residual income.

Another successful business they have is a very well established telecommunications business, where they offer networkers or anyone else for that matter, 35 cents national calls anywhere within Australia for people on the same network, the company does not charge a joining fee for customers to use this service, so it is very much a win / win situation. They offer this telecommunication service to their existing customers and future customers in their Network Options portfolio. Celia says "a dollar saved is like two dollars earned, you have not had to pay tax on it, and you have not had to go to work to earn it".  It is not how much you earn but how much you keep, that is the bottom-line in business.

In another of their successful businesses, Graham and Celia are currently at the Triple Diamond level in an amazing new Global business.  It is the simplest marketing concept they have ever seen, it markets direct to every country of the world, with very unique products. And to register an international business with this company it is only $14* and has no on-going annual renewals, and no age restrictions for under 18 year olds.

So where does this concept fit into their business system?  Celia could see that if her family, friends and business associates could join a company for less than $20*, do as little or as much as they wanted to, be rewarded from the very first person they introduced, not forced to order products every month, never lose their groups if they were not able to order for any reason or for any period of time, can run it along side any other network, as this company has no polices to stop you doing that, yet have a very unique product everyone feels better on and would not want to be without, they knew that they and the people associated with them, were on a life-time winner.

Unfortunately, these business terminations occur on too frequent a basis. Several of their friends have had their MLM business terminated after they had built them to very successful and profitable levels. The MLM companies made no recompense to them for the value of their business which continued to return handsome profits to the MLM’s from the business their friends had established.

Those members who have their business terminated, suspended or put on probation by companies such as Amway, Melaleuca, Agel, Neways, Herbal Life, NuSkin, Usana, Mannatech and others have often expended hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars introducing customers and members to these MLM’s to purchase their products and services and also for them to build their own home based business. The MLM companies make huge profits from the business efforts of their members to whom they pay various commissions and bonuses according to the MLM’s business plan. When the MLM’s such as Amway, Melaleuca, Agel, Neways, Herbal Life, NuSkin, Usana, Mannatech and others terminate the businesses of those members they accuse of purportedly being involved with other MLM’s, those companies continue to derive their profits from the on-going sales of their products and services to the people introduced to the MLM by the then terminated business; however those MLM’s cease to pay the commissions and bonuses derived for those sales, to the people who built the MLM’s customer and member base in the first place. These companies such as Amway, Melaleuca, Agel, Neways, Herbal Life, NuSkin, Usana, Mannatech and others attempt to brain-wash their members into believing that you cannot focus on, and build, more than one business at a time. In Graham and Celia’s opinion that is rubbish. Graham and Celia, and many of their downline, are currently successful in more than one MLM. Graham and Celia’s record in MLM businesses is that they have reached the highest levels in every one of those companies and that they also have the highest numbers of successful team members in those businesses.  Whenever there are recognitions, the Duck Team members are by far the largest majority. It is not unusual for their successful team members to outnumber all of the rest combined.

Graham and Celia say that simple logic tells you that what these companies, who want to control who and when you do business with other companies, that “you can only concentrate on one business at a time”, is blatantly wrong. All of us are already doing that in our everyday lives! When you purchase fuel for your car and pay by credit card you most likely get reward points for that purchase. Now does that credit card company say that you cannot also purchase fuel from another company? No, they do not! Do they say that if you purchase from company “A” that you will not receive your reward points if you also purchase food, or cleaners, or vitamins, or communications or anything else from company “B”. Does company “A” say that if you purchase from company “B” then you cannot also purchase from them? Of course they don’t! That’s ridiculous. Yet those same MLM’s regularly terminate their members business if that member becomes active in another MLM, even if that second MLM does not have the same type of product or service as the first MLM. These companies are also under the false assumption that they own your data base of family and friends; this is simple not true.

Furthermore, Graham and Celia know that most people involved in MLM’s already have a day job. What those people are looking for is an opportunity to gain extra income in their spare time. Sometimes known as the magic of part-time! Where is the conflict in deriving your income from your day-job, plus a part-time income from a health products company, or from cleaning products, or from a communications service, or from getting excited about holidays and travel, or a combination of these income opportunities? For those MLM’s to suggest that you cannot concentrate on deriving an income from more than one source is logically absurd. By extension, what those controlling MLM’s are saying is that you cannot concentrate on your day-job AND on working their MLM as a business. Ridiculous isn’t it! Of course you can concentrate on more than one business at a time! What is happening is that a company corporate person who has either never personally built an MLM business as a member, distributor etc., or not been successful when they have tried, is giving you advice on something they have never done! If it is your upline advising you, then either they have not thought about the above and are just regurgitating the company’s propaganda, or they are worried you will put more effort into the other company instead of theirs. The reality is that they are more worried about their own profits, commissions or bonus decreasing, while your income from another MLM business increases.

Your MLM company and your upline have no financial interest in you succeeding in another business if they are not also your upline in that other business. Therefore they will actively discourage you from being financially successful away from them. How? By telling you that you cannot concentrate on more than one business at a time and by threatening to put on probation, suspend or terminate your business if you become involved with another MLM.

Not all MLM’s are the same and like the above. For instance, the international health products MLM company Graham and Celia are with does not care how many other businesses you are with, all they want is for you to use and promote their excellent products. This is exactly what Graham and Celia do; and in doing so, they and their downline have the most successful and profitable business with that company, worldwide! Graham and Celia often remind the members of their team that “Timing is critical”. They want you to be one of the first with them and you WILL be successful. Think about it for too long and …. you might miss the boat. Don’t be one of the “I could have, should have, would have, if only I etc. crowd”. What Graham and Celia say to people is “come along and listen – what have you got to lose?”  They have done the hard yards checking out the companies they endorse to their members, and people who would now like to be associated personally with their Mighty Ducks Team.

Celia has been in private enterprise ever since she left school, and says residual passive income, leverage and duplication, is something she understands extremely well.

Celia believes in setting realistic goals depending on your commitment level, day job, family commitments, time frames etc. "Doing a little every day gets the job done;  consistency and follow-up are the key to networking", says Celia. "She loves working with positive people and she puts out conscious vibes to attract positive, life loving people to her on a daily basis".

Celia was born in Methven, New Zealand and grew up, north of Auckland.  She was always very ambitious and left Tauraroa District High School at 14 to start earning a living, always preferring commission based opportunities. "I've never seen traditional education as the key to success, and no-one was ever prepared to pay me what I was worth on a salary wage".

"Having common sense is one of my biggest assets, and our chosen companies  just makes sense."

Celia's parents had various businesses, including a dairy farm, a beef and sheep station between Whangarei and Dargaville, an engineering workshop, tractor sales and a car yard in Port Road, Whangarei. Celia loved farming, milking cows, shearing, and every aspect of farming except the droughts and fencing. Celia lived and married in Tauranga and moved to Australia several years later with her family to Moree in northern NSW. In Moree, Celia started a freight couriering business while her boys Croydon and Kyle Thorburn were not yet at school age and then went into property development and building when the children went to school. "I know what its like to be a working mum, and admire those people who use their children as the reason for building a networking type business and not the excuse for not doing it. Children learn very quickly about the ethics of business. Celia and Graham have four grandchildren, Jayden 12, Teneka 11 and Luke 10 and latest arrival Demi 2 years old.

Celia loves massages, sauna and spas, tennis, dancing and relaxing around the pool. Graham and Celia have a 1½ acre property just off the M1 Freeway at Tanah Merah which is half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, so there is always plenty to do as well as relaxing watching the butterflies and birds building their nests, feeding their chicks and swimming in the bird bath. There are koalas down the back and friendly water dragons that love to swim and sunbath around the pool area. "We both have a love for travel and the outdoors"' says Graham, who has lived overseas for many years. Graham speaks several Asian languages, and enjoyed the trip to China they took a couple of years ago.  They both love skiing. Graham competitively skis the advanced slopes and Celia says she just skis the lower slopes, plays around in the snow and has fun in the saunas, spas, massage and general pampering areas of the resorts. Our Club Freedom Travel business will allow many of our friends to travel with us will fully paid for Travel Rewards.

Celia is the social butterfly and Graham more of a homebody. Graham's hobbies include flying and boating. He flies a gyrocopter and is in the process of building a two-seater.  (Gyro's are like little helicopters - for people not in the know).  He loves making things in his large fully equipped workshop. He is also in the process of building a hovercraft which he is converting into a wing-in-ground effect flying hovercraft - the first of its kind. One of Graham’s next goals is to upgrade his fixed-wing aircraft license and purchase a 6-seater airplane, which will be great for keeping in personal contact with their interstate friends and business associates.

"We have a beautiful party boat, which takes 14 adults, and we use this regularly for incentive rewards.  We sail on the Gold Coast Broadwater and the many beautiful rivers and estuaries in and around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

We have attracted a very social group with us, and we love to have fun as we teach our people to be more successful".  Other things we enjoy are travel, reading and going to the movies in Gold Class Club style.

"We love to travel”. They have been to Hawaii and the USA many times, as well as Canada, New Zealand, China, the Caribbean on a luxury cruise, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, England, France, Fiji and other Pacific Islands.

"We know travel is not a "hot button" for everyone, but when you are grandparents, healthy, and financially free why not travel if you enjoy it". One of Celia's favourite cities is Las Vegas and yes she drives an American V8 Chevy Camaro Z28 Convertible, which their grandson Jayden thinks every Nana should drive with the top down. "Building the business and having time and money means we can take a couple of weeks to spend with our grandchildren, playing tennis, going to the zoo, and trips to the beach at the Gold Coast etc, while their mum and dad are away having a kids-free holiday".

“We offer Global not National opportunities. We market these products and services into every country of the world. We also use a motor-home for travelling and teaching our team members in New Zealand, the USA and Canada" says Celia.

In Australia, they keep in contact with their personal and distance groups by travelling in their Swagman Mercedes Benz Motor Office. "To enrol or sponsor someone into a networking business is to be responsible to help that person to be successful to whatever level that means to them. We are always only a phone call or email away for people wanting to make contact with us".

"Networking is a game!" say's Celia, "you just have to know your options and then learn how to play the game”. “Most people do an apprenticeship for 4 to 5 years to come out earning less than what you are able to achieve in less than 12 months in this type of business, so it just makes sense to spend a few years to build a residual based, passive income business, to give yourself some lifestyle choices".

You do not carry any inventory. No products to deliver, No large set up costs, No large monthly quota's, No time pressures to reach levels, No handling of monies or complicated paper work. You just show people the program, and set up their account direct with the manufactures or service provider on-line, or by fax,  and you are paid a monthly override commission on all accounts you set up with them on an ongoing residual income basis.  “Simplest marketing programs we have ever seen”, say's Celia “and we have seen many”.

"The secret is, there is no secret.  We just ask people questions, whether income or lifestyle opportunities interest them and if the answer is yes, we sit down with them for 10 to 20 minutes to show them what we are doing.  We have something for everyone".
